Hello,
I tried to make online booking but whenever I select my citizenship (Pakistan) I get this error message: "Visa required for non-Schengen nationals and all visitors to Russia staying longer than 72 hours. Please fill in all required fields marked red."
Can you please sort out this problem? Or is there any other way of making a reservation?
Regards,
Umer
Answer
Dear Umer!
Kindly note that passengers who don’t have visa should buy City bus tour (according to the legislation) that costs 15 euro.
The bus will take you from the Harbour and then get you back!

Good day,
could you please answer the following questions:
1. we would like to book the cruise departing Helsinki thurday, 30.09.10, spend 2 nights in a Hotel in St.Petersburg and return to Helsinki on 3.10.10. Does this count as one cruise Euro 500,00 for commodore cabin or 2 one way (2 x 350.00 Euro).
2. We arrive at Helsinki Airport at 12.30 h on 30.09.10 what transport arrangement from the Airport to the Harbour terminal would you suggest.
Regards
Karl
Answer
Dear Karl!
1. If you want to spend in Saint-Petersburg 2 nights you should book 2 tickets both way, because booking «cruise» means returning back from Saint-Petersburg the same day in the evening (without staying in the city)
2. We recommend you to take taxi to get to the Harbour quickly and comfortably!

Hi,

Once you land in St Petersburg, how long does it actually to clear the immigration etc? if we take the 8 hours city tour, does it gives us enough time to cover all the major attractions and ensure we are back in time before the departure? also during the 8 hours tour, can we also move freely alone or do we need to be in the bus all the time? Thanks in advance
Answer
Since you arrived in Saint-Petersburg you have 72 hours.
If you take 8 hours city tour you should spend all the time in the bus (otherwise you can see Saint Petersburg by yourself without excursion)

Hello,

I'd like to bring some gifts (wine and food from France) to my friends in St Petersburg, but I saw in the "STANDARD CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGE FOR PASSENGERS AND THEIR LUGGAGE" that it's prohibited... ist here something to do, like the staff lock it during the cruise and I can retrieve it in Saint Petersburg ??

Thxs
Answer
Dear Sir/Madam!
In accordance with standard conditions of carriage for passengers and their luggage it’s not allowed to take alcohol and food on board!
You can take a bottle of wine but you are to leave it on reception at the period of the journey and withdraw it on the way back!
Passengers are not allowed to drink alcohol purchased in duty-free shops (or purchased on the shore) on board the ferry in cabins and other public space of the vessel.

Dear Sir / Madam,
I have a question concerning the visa regulations again...
So, we would like to take the ferry from Helsinki to St. Petersburg next year march. Preferably going there on Thursday and leaving on Sunday.
Am I right on the assumption that if we wanna stay 72h in Russia without visa, we have to book "cruise"? Is it not possible to just book "return"? We'd like to stay in a hotel in St. Petersburg for 2 nights. So Friday morning to Sunday evening would be just 60 hours.
Thank you in advance!
Answer
Dear Steffi!
If you want to spend 2 night in Saint Petersburg you should buy 2 tickets both way («return»)because cruise means returning back to Helsinki at the same day in evening.
Please note that you should have booking confirmation from the hotel you’re going to stay and City bus tour (in accordance with legislation)
You can spend 2 nights in the hotel (from Friday till Sunday) and return back at Sunday 19.00
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us!

Dear Sir/Madame,

I understand that we have to buy a cruise Helsinki-St. Petersbourg with return and a bus tour with you to be allowed to stay 72 hours (3 days) in St. Petersbourg without a visa.

Is it possible to spend then 3 nights in a hotel in St. Petersbourg or do we need to overnight on the ferry? In this last case, how much will be the cost per night for 2 people?
Also, is it possible to book and buy the cruise the day before departure? I ask you this because we would like to decide the date of our cruise when we are in Helsinki (we are leaving in a 10 day's time from Italy).

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
kind regards,
Alessandra
Answer
Dear Alessandra!

If you want to spend 3 nights in Saint-Petersburg you should buy a cruise and City bus tour (if you don’t have visa) and have a confirmation from the hotel with the reservation as there is no possibility to overnight on the ferry!
It is possible to buy a ticket the day before departure upon availability.

Dear Sir/Madam,

My girlfriend and me want to do a tryp on septembre: Stockholm-Helsinki-St Petersburg.
I've reading on your web site and I understood that the visa card is not necessary for less than 72 hours in Russia, is it right?
(I can read that Hans Mattisson has the same doubt)

The second doubt is:
Is necessary to have a hotel reservation with an agency? I mean: I can not do it for my own?

Thank you very much
Answer
You indeed do not need a visa for visiting Russia less than for 72 hours but there are some obligatory rules:
- Besides a cabin you need to purchase city bus tour tickets costing 15 EUR per person per trip
- It is necessary to have a 100% prepaid hotel reservation confirmation for the whole period of stay in Russia made either by your own or with an agency.
- It is necessary to reserve and pay both outbound and return journeys by ferry in advance.

My family, a group of 3, will arrive in Helsinky the 28th of July. They want to take the one way cruise to St Petersburg the 29th but their RUSIAN VISA starts the 31st of July. Is there a problem with this? Will they be accepted in Rusia?
Answer
Hello!
If their Russian Visa starts 31st of July, they could not enter Russia untill 31st of July. They will have problems, because "One way" ticket does not allow to enter Russia without visa. If they will take "cruise" programme Helsinki-St.PeterLine-Helsinki with bus tour, they will enter Russia for 72 hours without visa.
